Hard Party Night

Lower your voices
i want to hear
the clouds howling
the transvestite moon
digs a ditch of light
across my...

the audience is a mad
old bird shrieking and
spluttering and making
itself fall apart
into several pieces

the sea gets high
on rasta music and
stills itself
the moon falls off
its perch and people
dance in tribal spasms
only to be
stamped on by a
giant foot that was drawn
merely to wear a slipper

candles burn from the
bigamy of flowers by the sea
hush hush
with your waxen tears
we can make soap

i found out fossils
in the swamp
i found my face
in rock i looked
party sedated
but i know i was so...

but the audience
finds new pursuits
one is the fondue
swamp
the prongs plunged
down and the
gurgling living bong
of the swamp was disturbed
by it all

the grass murmured
and turned into metal
blades that were mildly
sharp but breathtaking
in the moonlight

streetlights looked down
lovingly
but really it means nothing
because like jellyfish
they have no brain

or maybe that would make
them the most
tender mothers of all.
