FARIDA MIHOUB

--------

CHAMPIONS

'Tonight should be quiet,' he thought.
He sat down to watch TV
with his glass of beer.
If it were not for the final game
of the championship,
he may have called her
to join him.
The players were so fit,
and the supporters eager.
By the time the champions
were known,
a couple of hours had passed,
and all the pressure was down.
All those in the stadium
were going to celebrate,
except for the losers.
Yes, he should have called her,
bedtime came running,
and her hands would not be
where his heart was.
