DR. AMITABH MITRA

--------

RAIN IN GWALIOR

days blended into nights
and then suddenly
a rain drop
quietly
managed
to touch your cheeks
while you looked out through
the fort windows
drenched in a
train of wayward suns
creeping in
within a dust storm
camels stirring
  a scattered rainbow
there was a whiff of
wet earth again
desires
i had
seen once
between
your wet
tresses
and laburnum
rushes
the window jali
  caught up
with your eyes
the sun
and the
rain.
